Servings: 12 rolls
Course: Side Dish

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk 110°F
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast 1 packet
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter melted, plus 3 tbsp for topping
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • flaky salt for sprinkling

Equipment

  • 9x13-inch pan

Method

  1. Stir the yeast and sugar into the warm milk; let stand 5 to 10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix in the 1/3 cup melted butter, the egg, flour, and salt. Knead 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover and rise in a warm spot 1 hour, until doubled.
  4. Divide into 12 balls and arrange in a greased 9x13-inch pan. Cover and rise 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake 18 to 20 minutes, until golden.
  6. Melt the remaining 3 tbsp butter with the garlic; brush over the hot rolls. Sprinkle with parsley and flaky salt.

Notes

  • The milk should be warm, about 110°F, so the yeast gets foamy.
  • Nothing beats a warm homemade roll!
