The recipe makes about 24 cake pops.

  • Easy to decorate. Just one candy eyeball per pop.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Chocolate cake mix: Plus the eggs, oil and water from the box.

You’ll find the exact amounts and steps in the printable recipe card below.

How to Make It

Bake the chocolate cake mix in a 9×13-inch pan and let it cool completely. Crumble it into fine crumbs and mix in the frosting until it holds together like dough. Roll it into balls and chill. Dip the tip of each lollipop stick in melted white candy melts, push it into a ball, and chill again. Dip each pop in the white coating, let the extra drip off, and press on a candy eyeball before it sets. Stand them up in a foam block until firm.

Tips for the Best Eyeball Cake Pops

  • Cool the cake completely. Warm cake makes mushy pops.
  • Chill the balls. An hour helps them hold on the sticks.
  • Dip the stick first. A little coating on the tip glues it into the ball.
  • Work fast with the eyes. Press them on before the coating sets.
  • Stand them up. A foam block keeps them upright while they firm up.

Save this for your Halloween treat table! 🎃
